The CLWR Quilters meet on the last Wednesday of every month, from September to May. We assemble and tie quilts for distribution by Canadian Lutheran World Relief (CLWR) to refugee camps and disaster areas. Since our first meeting in 2007, we have completed more than 500 quilts, with new additions every month.
No experience is necessary to join the Quilters. Some members prefer to work on projects at home.
On behalf of CLWR, we also gather supplies and assemble Baby Bundles containing items such as diapers, washcloths, receiving blankets, sleepers and sweaters for newborns. Knitters in the group make sweaters for infants and afghans.
We Care Kits, packed with school supplies, basic personal hygiene items and a simple toy are another of our projects. St. Peter’s children and adults participate by contributing supplies and assembling the kits.
