Music is an integral part of the Lutheran heritage, a ministry focus for St. Peter’s congregation and a joyful expression of faith during worship services.
St. Peter’s music program provides training for volunteer choir members and opportunity to share gifts and talents with the congregation. Summer musical meditations are offered by members and friends of the congregation to enrich summertime worship. Soloists and ensembles, vocal and instrumental, perform throughout the year. The Sunday Church School shares group singing with the congregation on special occasions.
St. Peter’s has three choirs: Senior Choir, Junior Choir and Cherub Choir.
Senior Choir
The Senior Choir leads the congregation in music at the weekly 10:00 a.m. service, on Holy Days and on special occasions. Practices are held on Thursday evenings from September to June.
Junior Choir
The Junior Choir performs on special occasions. Members are between the ages of 8 and 15. Practices are held on Sunday mornings.
Cherub Choir
Cherub Choir members are ages 3 to 8. The Cherubs sing on occasions such as the Children’s Advent Service and Mother’s Day.
